Transit Services

The La Puente LINK Shuttle has been in operation since 2001, with a fare of 50 cents per ride, 25 cents for seniors and disabled. The LINK has continued to be very popular, with ridership steadily growing each month. For more information regarding the LINK, call City Hall at (626) 855-1500 or view the La Puente LINK Schedule.

In order to provide convenient and affordable public transportation to the community as well as assist in reducing vehicle emissions for improved air quality, the City of La Puente City Council provides significant public transportation subsidies.  The subsidy program is very popular with residents, particularly with senior citizens and students.  This program provides City residents the opportunity to purchase Foothill Transit and MTA bus passes at substantially reduced rates.  The subsidy is available to City Residents only.

  • Foothill Transit passes are sold daily at City Hall, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In order to qualify for the subsidy you must be a resident of the City of La Puente. You must show proof of residence with a current I.D, and utility bill or other bill and provide a 1″ x 1″ photo for our files.
  • MTA/EZ Passes are sold at City Hall from the 25th of each month until the 10th of the following month.
  • Bus passes may be purchased at City Hall from Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Lending support to the buses is the City’s Dial-a-Ride program. Dial-A-Ride is an advance reservation para-transit service available to La Puente residents who are 55 years old and older as well as individuals with disabilities. The service provides rides to any destination within the City limits and to medical and dental appointments up to 5 miles outside of the City limits. The cost of a ride is 25 cents; however, companions assisting a disabled rider may ride for free. A certification process is provided through San Gabriel Transit. Call the San Gabriel Transit office at (626) 330-4000 to make a reservation. There are some restrictions.  For more information, please call City Hall at (626) 855-1500.
