Recreational Classes
The City of La Puente offers a wide variety of recreational, educational, fitness, and skill-oriented classes to the community at affordable prices. Classes are offered for children of all ages, youth, and adults. Participation not only fosters self improvement, but also offers an opportunity for social interaction and growth. Current trends are considered when developing new classes to ensure that the program is meeting the needs of an ever changing society.
- Cultural Dance Ballet Folklorico
Description: This is a cultural dance class. Students will learn a variety of dances from different regions of Mexico. Location Multipurpose room
Beginning Ballet Folklorico
Ages: 3-10 yrs
Fridays: 6:00- 6:45 p.m
Intermediate Ballet Folklorico
Ages 10-18 yrs
Fridays : 7: 00-7:45 p.m
Beginning /intermediate ballet Folklorico
Ages 18 and up
Fridays: 8:00- 9:00 p.m
- Dance
Aztec Dance
Location: Multipurpose room
Ages: 5 and up
Teach traditional Aztec dance from Mexico. Visual learning and follow along of traditional Aztec Dance. Students will learn step by step, instruments and drum movements.
- Martial Arts
Class: Judo
Ages 4 and up
Location: La Puente Community Center Gymnasium
Description:
Judo instruction will include techniques on posture, footwork, body movement. falling ad gripping techniques, unbalancing an opponent, making an opening, and applying a throw. While instruction will train the students to compete in local and national tournaments it is not a requirement to participate in the weekly classes.

Online
Class registration is now available online. First time online users need to request an account set-up in person at the La Puente Community Center.
Walk-In
You can register in person by bringing your Activity Registration Form and payment to the La Puente Community Center or the Youth Learning Activity Center.
Classes often fill up quickly and availability is determined at the time of registration. If you have specific questions regarding class availability, registration deadlines, etc., please contact the La Puente Community Center at (626) 855-1560 or the Youth Learning Activity Center at
