City Council Meetings

Regular meetings of the City Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in Council Chambers located at City Hall, 15900 East Main Street, La Puente, California 91744. Special meetings are held on an as-needed basis.

Rules of Decorum

Pursuant to La Puente Municipal Code § 2.04.120, speakers and audience members may not engage in disorderly or disruptive conduct, including the use of loud, threatening, or abusive language, whistling, stamping of feet or any other behavior that disturbs, disrupts, or otherwise interferes with the orderly conduct of the meeting. Each person who addresses the City Council must do so in an orderly manner and must not make personal, impertinent, slanderous, or profane remarks to any member of the City Council, City staff, or general public. These rules apply equally to individuals participating in person and to those participating remotely through a two-way telephonic or two-way audiovisual platform.

Any person who engages in conduct that actually disrupts, disturbs, impedes, or renders the orderly conduct of the meeting infeasible may, at the discretion of the presiding officer or a majority of the City Council, be barred from further participation in the meeting, consistent with applicable law. In addition, any person who, without lawful authority, willfully disturbs or breaks up a City Council meeting may be subject to prosecution under California Penal Code § 403.

Public oral communications are intended to provide residents with an opportunity to address the City Council on matters within the Council’s subject matter jurisdiction that cannot be handled during the City’s regular business hours.
