La Puente Park is home to the La Puente Little League, La Puente Girls’ Softball and the Jr. All American Warriors Football and Cheer teams.

Located between Nelson Elementary School and the Puente Creek Drainage Channel the Puente Creek Nature Education Center occupies 1.2 acres and provides the community, including students of the surrounding school districts, educational opportunities regarding the Southern California ecosystem and the environmental issues that face the area.

In 2013 the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) awarded the Puente Creek Nature Education Center the Award of Excellence in the Excellence in Design for Park Planning  The park featured small play area is also inspired by the nature of the watershed, and includes climbing boulders and sculptural animals that children can explore.
