Monday, 10/26/2020 (10 AM) UPDATE:
Questions submitted thus far for the online forum tonight, Monday, October 26th.

Question from Oscar Lopez: Hi, since I won’t get to hear my question answered over the call, I’m writing about my concern over the increase in the sheriff’s station budget. The 2020_21 fy budget acknowledges that the city will be receiving less revenue this year because of the national pandemic. Yet, there was a 6% increase to sheriffs funding during this pandemic. This reflects an increase of roughly 1 Million dollars. My question is as follows: during a pandemic, and when there has been no increase in major crimes, why does the industry sheriff’s department deserve $8,451,800 or, roughly 55% of the city of La Puente’s entire budget for the fiscal year?

Question from Paul Alonzo: Does La Puente and the surrounding unincorporated areas enforce any type of beautification rules when it comes to personal residences?? There are so many homes in the area that have excessive vehicles in lawns, trash or junk in front yards. These home are also common areas where deputies are dispatched to for various reasons. Helping to enforce beautification rules can help keep the city looking good as well as curb some forms crime.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva is hosting a Community Conversation for the City of La Puente on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please see below for participation instructions:
