La Puente Park Re-Imagined

October 21, 2019

It has been many years since the La Puente Park has been updated, but the City Council Members decided it was time to bring our only community park into the new age. Plans began over a year ago and the Park Design Committee poured over 100’s of designs and features all the while looking toward the most functional uses that can be derived from our 22+ Acre facility.

Site Plan of Phase 1. More changes then this shows are coming very soon.

Currently it is the home of 2 full time softball fields, 2 full time little league fields, 2 basketball courts, 4 handball courts, a temporary football field and enough open space for a couple impromptu soccer games. The City Council has just approved the sports field renovation portion that will bring some major updates. These will include the permanent installation of a regulation football field, softball field upgrades, batting cages, new lighting, a skate park, as well as completely upgraded basketball courts. With all these visible improvements there will be parking lot upgrades and underground sewer and water line updates. In short this design will improve the total sports field usage and encourage more community teams and public usage upon completion.

The first of the work is likely to begin in mid-November so keep looking for these updates across all of our public media, and soon our new online video channel.
